Sania Mirza born on November 15, 1986, Mumbai, India. She now residing in Hyderabad, Southern part of India. Sania Mirza become the first and only professional tennis player from India to win a WTA title in 2005 in her home town of Hydrabad.
Sania Mirza started atracting attention when she entered third round of Australian Open in 2005 only to loose to evantual champion Serena Williams. Later Sania Mirza won the Hydrabad Open and defeated then US Open Champion in Dubai Open.
Sania Mirza's highest achivement todate in Grand Slam tournament is 4th round meeting with Maria Sharapova at the 2005 US Open.
Sania Mirza was honoured by Indian Government with Arjuna Award in 2005 and in 2006 with 'Padma Shri' the fourth highest civilian award.
